2 suspects in selling fake vehicle documents arrested

MANILA, Philippines — Two suspects tagged in the manufacturing of fake motor vehicle documents were arrested in Quezon City last Friday.

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) lauded the arrest made by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) at a building along East Avenue in Barangay Pinyahan around 4:30 p.m.

The suspects, identified as Cherry Ann Imperial and Crispolo Hermida, were allegedly involved in the fabrication and printing of alleged falsified official receipts and certificates of registrations (OR/CR) of motor vehicles.

Operatives seized marked money used in the entrapment, falsified OR/CR, a laptop, a printer and a mobile phone.

Hermida allegedly ran the illegal selling of falsified private and public documents near the LTO central office.

Follow-up operations are still being conducted against the suspects’ cohorts, according to LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II.

“Let this serve as a warning against fixers and other people making easy money using LTO documents, and even those manufacturing and selling fake license plates, that we will not stop until you are all brought to jail,” Mendoza said.
