COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Seven members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) reportedly wanted for stockpiling undocumented firearms and explosives have been arrested in Sultan Kudarat.

S/Sgt. Mark Lester Cabangan and his subordinates – Patrolmen Dagie Peligro, Rex Borlagdatan, Joevin Aven, Arjoe Gamino, Joven Pasaylo and Raymark Ortega – were held at the Sultan Kudarat police jail.

Col. Bernardo Lao, Sultan Kudarat police director, said the arrest was based on a warrant issued by a trial court based in Tacurong City.

The court also ordered the arrest of two other CIDG officers, a major and a captain, who are now the subject of a manhunt.

Lao declined to provide details about the case that the CIDG men are facing.

He said one of the officers listed in the warrant had signified intention to surrender.
