CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Cash reward amounting to P550,000 has been offered in exchange for information that can lead to the arrest of the killer of an election officer and his wife in Palawan.
Election officer Emmanuel Gacott and his wife Frenie were found dead with stab wounds at their house in Barangay Cambian in Agutaya on Sept. 21.
Maj. Ric Ramos, spokesman for the Palawan police, said that of the total reward money, P500,000 was put up by relatives of the victims and the rest by the local government.
Ramos told The STAR that members of the special investigation task group “Gacott” would conduct a case conference today to discuss the progress of the probe.
The couple’s money amounting to P3 million was reported missing, police said.
Investigators are eyeing robbery as the motive for the killing.
