58 kilos of marijuana seized in sting
MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics agents confiscated 58 kilos of marijuana with a street value of P6.96 million in Quezon City on Thursday night.
Maj. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., National Capital Region Police Office director, said the illegal drugs were seized from Brenjie Oberez, 42, a suspected drug dealer who is being held on charges of drug trafficking.
Oberez was arrested in a sting operation in front of a gasoline station in Barangay E. Rodriguez at around 10:30 p.m., Nartatez said in a message on Viber.
Oberez was brought to the Cubao police station for investigation.
Meanwhile, around 80 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu valued at P544,000 were confiscated from Robert Alvarez, 29, and Yves Kenthanzel Angeles, 40, during a sting in Marikina City the same night.
In Pasig, police seized 26.11 grams of shabu valued at P177,548 from Eduardo Pimentel, 59, on Thursday night.
