MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go continued bringing government services closer to communities in need when he visited Mati City in Davao Oriental on Saturday.

Go and his Malasakit Team distributed food packs, snacks, shirts, sports equipment, face masks, vitamins and school bags to up to 985 people who gathered at the Davao Oriental State University gymnasium.

Among those who attended the event were senior citizens, barangay health workers, people with disabilities, parents and youth groups.

Go, in collaboration with Sen. Joel Villanueva and Gov. Niño Sotero Uy, provided financial assistance to more than a thousand qualified beneficiaries.

He thanked board members Stephen Paul Uy and Shella Marie Go, Councilor Arman Valera and Mayor Michelle Rabat for serving their constituents.

After the aid distribution, Go visited the Super Health Center in Mati City, where he also provided food packs to community health workers present in the event.

He pushed for the expansion of super health centers nationwide, including 14 in Davao Oriental, to provide primary care, consultation and early disease detection services to people in remote communities.

With the help of the Department of Health led by Secretary Teodoro Herbosa, legislators and local government units, substantial funding has been allocated for the establishment of Super Health Centers across the country.

Go vowed to continue working for the establishment of more similar facilities nationwide.
