ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Shabu with an estimated value of P13.6 million was seized in a sting that also resulted in the arrest of three drug suspects in this city yesterday.

Authorities said the seizure of shabu weighing two kilos in Barangay Tumaga was a result of intensified intelligence and surveillance operations conducted by the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit and the city police.

Arrested were Isniraya Hassan, 60; Katrina Adjihin, 26, and Gafur Jalaluddin, 32.

Aside from shabu, which was placed in two large plastic packs, police also recovered the marked money used in the sting.

The suspects, who have with them a seven-month-old infant, came from Bongao in Tawi-Tawi. They reportedly intended to sell the drugs in the city.

The infant was placed under the custody of the local office of the social welfare and development.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect, police said.
