Free MRT-3, LRT-2 rides for solo parents today

MANILA, Philippines — Single parents may ride trains of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) and the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) for free today to observe National Solo Parents’ Day.

The free rides are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Solo parents should present their valid identification card or certificate of eligibility proving their status.

The free rides are a way of recognizing the sacrifice of single parents to raise their children, according to statements from MRT-3 officer-in-charge Jorjette Aquino and LRT-2 operator Light Rail Transit Authority administrator Hernando Cabrera.
