MANILA, Philippines — The University of the Philippines is now accepting applications for the UP College Admission Test or UPCAT for academic year 2025-2026.

Those who are interested to take the UPCAT on Aug. 10 and 11 should submit Form 1 or the document containing their personal information and program choices from April 15 to May 25.

The Office of Admissions said students who would be in Grade 12 by the time they take the UPCAT are eligible to apply this year.

“Schools must fill out and confirm their students in the Form 2A portal from 15 April to May 22, for the applicants to be released their test permit in July,” UP said.

After taking the test, applicants must revisit the portal to submit their grades from Grades 8 to 11 in Form 2B portal and submit a hard copy of their SF-10 or permanent school records to the Office of Admissions at UP Diliman.

The highly anticipated UPCAT consists of four subtests: Language Proficiency (English and Filipino), Science, Mathematics and Reading Comprehension (English and Filipino).

Applicants are selected based on their combined UPCAT scores and composite of final grades from Grades 8 to 11.

UP said the university also considers socioeconomic and geographic factors in its admission process to implement the policy of democratic access.

UP president Angelo Jimenez earlier said the university administration is implementing measures to ensure greater access to poor students.

Among these, Jimenez said, is allowing those who did not pass the UPCAT to study for associate degrees, which could determine whether they can qualify for regular courses after two years.
