MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics agents intercepted P15.46 million worth of cocaine and marijuana in Pasay City on Friday.

Brig. Gen. Dionisio Bartolome Jr., police Drug Enforcement Group director, said the illegal drugs were seized during an interdiction operation at the Central Mail Exchange Center along Domestic Road at around 1:30 p.m.

Bartolome said among the banned narcotics are 2.45 kilos of cocaine with a street value of P12.99 million.

Six plastic pouches that contained 1.3 kilos of marijuana valued at P2.46 million were also confiscated.

The drugs were turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for documentation.

Bartolome said an investigation is ongoing to determine the source of the drugs and the designated recipients.

Meanwhile, police officers arrested two people who were in possession of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu with a street value of P374,000 early Friday.

Some 55 grams of shabu were confiscated from the two suspects who Pasig police chief Col. Celerino Sacro Jr. identified only as Jun and Samantha.

The suspects were collared in a sting along Mercedes Avenue in Barangay San Miguel at around 4:55 a.m., Sacro said in a statement.

The alleged drug dealers reportedly received P7,200 in marked money from an undercover police officer who negotiated with them for the sale of a pack of shabu.

The suspects are being held on charges of drug trafficking.
