ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Five kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P34 million were seized in a sting that also resulted in the arrest of two suspects in this city on Monday night.

Waham Akibul Ganih, 59, and Almujir Amil Jumah, 37, were collared by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU).

The suspects were on the watchlist of the police, according to Brig. Gen. Bowenn Joey Masauding, Zamboanga peninsula police director.

Ganih and Jumah were arrested on Cariaga street in Barangay Mercedes at past 11 p.m. after allegedly selling an undetermined amount of shabu to an undercover agent.

The suspects reportedly yielded five plastic sachets containing shabu placed in a paper bag and eco-bag as well as marked money.

The arresting team, led by Capt. Vincent Perez of the RDEU and PDEA intelligence agent Marvin Santos also seized the suspects’ pick-up truck.

The drugs were brought to the Zamboanga City police forensic unit while the suspects were detained at the city police detention cell.
