P44.2 million shabu seized in Cavite, Iloilo

MANILA, Philippines — Shabu weighing 6.5 kilos with an estimated street value of P44.2 million were seized in Cavite and Iloilo on Thursday night.

Montahan Abbas, 43; his wife, Norhata, 39; her sibling Datu Bandong, said to be an Army reservist, and his wife Elsie were arrested for alleged posssession of 3.5 kilos of shabu worth P23.8 million in a sting at their rented apartment in Barangay Molino IV in Bacoor City.

Abbas, said to be a major drug peddler and courier operating in Zamboanga del Sur, was the target of the PDEA operation.

Abbas’ group was also reportedly connected with drug rings operating in Southern Tagalog and Metro Manila.

In Iloilo City, Sianon Feo, 39; his partner Ann Acosta, 35, and their house helper Rosse Ann Abanero, 34, were arrested at a subdivision in Barangay Camalig.

The suspects reportedly yielded three kilos of shabu valued at P20.4 million.
