MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has ordered the management of golf courses in Metro Manila to conserve water amid the El Niño phenomenon and the continued drop in Angat Dam’s water level.

The DENR issued Bulletin No. 4, directing the public and private golf courses to comply with water conservation measures.

The bulletin covers 13 golf courses in the National Capital Region, which were ordered to use recycled water in irrigating their greens and fairways.

These are the Camp Aguinaldo Golf, Veterans Golf, Army-Kagitingan Golf, Villamor Golf, Club Intramuros, Philippine Navy Golf, Wack-Wack Golf, Manila Golf, Valley Golf, Sun Valley Golf, Alabang Golf, Foresthills Golf and Eastridge Golf.

They were also directed to reduce groundwater withdrawal and to stop using piped water in irrigating their lands.
