Bohol cops foil kidnap try on Chinese woman

MANILA, Philippines — Operatives of the Bohol police foiled an attempt to kidnap a Chinese woman in Panglao, Bohol yesterday.

The suspects – four Chinese and two Filipinos – identified only as Ming, Noj, Wun, Nung, Ben and Jag, were arrested in Barangay Poblacion at 8:45 a.m.

The victim, 53, is said to be a resident of Jiangsu province in China.

Police said two caliber .45 pistols and two vehicles, one of which was owned by the victim, were recovered from the suspects.

Initial investigation showed the family of the victim paid ransom through bank transfer.

The police is coordinating with the Chinese embassy and Department of Foreign Affairs to turn over the victim to her family.
