Man nabbed for molesting girl, 13
MANILA, Philippines — A man who allegedly sexually abused a 13-year-old girl in Quezon City was arrested on Friday.
Jose Samson is facing complaints for acts of lasciviousness in relation to Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, for the incident that occurred in Barangay Novaliches Proper at around 3 p.m.
Quezon City Police District director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III said the victim was in their house when Samson, her neighbor, went inside and asked if he could borrow a nail cutter.
While looking for a nail cutter, the suspect allegedly pushed the girl against a corner of the house and attempted to rape her.
As the victim resisted, a cabinet fell to the floor. This alarmed Samson, who fled from the scene.
The victim told her mother about her ordeal and they reported the incident to the Novaliches police station.
Samson was apprehended by policemen in a follow-up operation.
Torre urged the public to immediately report similar incidents and other crimes to the police.
