COTABATO CITY, Philippines — A tornado flattened shanties, felled dozens of palm trees and destroyed six fishing boats in Datu Blah Sinsuat town in Maguindanao del Norte on Saturday.
Mayor Marshall Sinsuat said responders were deployed to attend to the needs of affected villagers in Barangay Nalkan.
Sinsuat said two cattle died after being hit by felled coconut trees.
There was no reported casualty among villagers.
Barangay officials and municipal disaster risk reduction and management council workers are conducting clearing operations.
