NCRPO nabs 3 wanted fugitives

Marc Jayson Cayabyab - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Operatives of the National Capital Region (NCRPO) have arrested three wanted fugitives in separate police operations in Metro Manila.

In a statement yesterday, NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Edgar Alan Okubo lauded his men for the arrest of Singaporean Isaac Lim Yuan Zhun, Chinese national Chen Liqiang and alleged Abu Sayyaf member Muktar Yusop Maani.

Zhun was nabbed in Pasay City on Tuesday, based on a warrant issued by Quezon City Regional Trial Court Judge Roslyn Rabara-Tria for a case of violence against women and children.

Chen was arrested in Parañaque by virtue of a warrant issued by a Muntinlupa court for slight physical injuries, grave threats, slander and oral defamation.

Maani was collared by NCRPO operatives, who served a warrant for his arrest in Barangay 393, Quiapo, Manila on March 2.

He has a pending warrant for six counts of kidnapping for ransom and serious illegal detention issued by a Pasig court.

Maani is said to be an Abu Sayyaf member operating in Basilan, Sulu Zamboanga and Metro Manila, according to the NCRPO.

Okubo warned criminals who remain at large that “their days are numbered.”

“Metro Manila is not a hiding place for persons hiding from justice,” he said.
