MANILA, Philippines — Face-to-face classes in some areas will resume today after transport groups announced the end of their jeepney strike yesterday.

Among those that announced the resumption of in-person classes were Quezon City, Pasig, Navotas, Caloocan, Marikina and Mandaluyong.

The resumption of in-person classes covers public and private schools across all levels in Cavite, Navotas, Pasig and Marikina.

In an advisory, the Quezon City government said it is up to private schools if they would continue with online classes or resume face-to-face learning.

Meanwhile, Caloocan Mayor Along Malapitan said online classes at the University of Caloocan would continue until March 12.

Adamson University said that onsite classes would resume on Monday in consideration of the appeal from students.

Several local government units and academic institutions announced the shift to online classes this week due to the transport strike.

Transport groups Manibela and Piston ended their strike following a dialogue at Malacañang.
