MANILA, Philippines — Over 500 drug dependents in Caloocan completed the city’s community-based drug rehabilitation program, Mayor Along Malapitan reported yesterday.
In a statement, Malapitan said 588 drug dependents benefited from the program from July to December last year.
Caloocan Anti-Drug Abuse Office officer-in-charge Wilmilson Amoyo said they would continue identifying users in the city and would help them deal with drug dependency.
Malapitan lauded the graduates of the program for their “second chance in life” now that they have completed the drug rehabilitation.
“I salute you for finishing the program and for striving to break free from being a slave to illegal drugs,” Malapitan said in Filipino.
