Malaya reelected as NABPLO president
MANILA, Philippines — Lawyer Melanie Soriano-Malaya, chief of Paranaque’s Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO), was reelected president of the National Association of Business Permits and Licensing Officers (NABPLO) during its national convention in Cordova, Cebu over the weekend.
It will be Malaya’s third term to head the NABPLO, an active partner of the government and private sector in pushing for innovative reforms and programs to promote local competitiveness as well as national development.
The three-day convention dubbed “Re-engineering the BPLOs in the Philippines toward National Recovery through Digitization” seeks to highlight the significant role of BPLO in every locality in pursuing a business-friendly and investment ready local government units in the digital era.
The convention was also designed to conduct a plenary and simultaneous breakout sessions to discuss related topics in re-engineering the business permitting process, according to the association.
Malaya said the association is ready to institute the creation of BPLOs in the country.
“Rest assured that we will continue to foster an environment of knowledge sharing of our good regulatory practices with the members of the NABPLO nationwide,” she said.
