MALOLOS, Philippines — The Angat Dam has breached its ideal yearend water elevation of 212 meters, assuring Metro Manila of adequate potable water as well as Bulacan and Pampanga of irrigation supply during summer.

Manuel Lukban, disaster risk reduction and management officer of Bulacan, said that as of 6 a.m. yesterday, the water level in Angat was 212.53 meters.

Meanwhile, the water level in Bustos Dam, also located in Bulacan, has risen past its spilling level of 17.35 meters.

The National Irrigation Administration, which manages Bustos, opened the dam’s two gates to release 156 cubic meters per second of water to a downstream river system.
