MANILA, Philippines — People displaced by Severe Tropical Storm Paeng may avail themselves of the training being provided by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
TESDA director general Danilo Cruz said the agency is extending assistance to victims of calamities, to help them find new employment and recover quickly from their losses.
Aside from distributing relief packs, Cruz said, TESDA gives training on construction-related programs.
All TESDA regional directors have been ordered to conduct assistance, recovery and rebuilding activities in areas devastated by Paeng.
“TESDA exemplifies the distinct sympathetic nature of Filipinos to help our kababayans in distress. The agency ensures that interventions and appropriate assistance are immediately provided to the affected individuals,” Cruz said.
TESDA field offices were also directed to activate their respective disaster teams to ensure that assistance would be given to affected villages.
Regional offices were ordered to coordinate with regional or provincial government agencies and local chief executives to identify assistance needed by affected residents.
