‘Contract killer’ nabbed in Quezon

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — An alleged leader of a group engaged in contract killing was arrested in Catanauan, Quezon on Sunday.

Saturnino Masikat, alias Turne and Thor, was reportedly the leader of the Masikat crime group operating in Silang, Cavite and nearby areas.

Masikat was tagged as the mastermind in the killing of a Korean couple, a village councilman and a police officer in Silang in 2015 and 2020, according to Col. Christopher Olazo, Cavite police director.

Aside from engaging in contract killing, the suspect and his group were allegedly involved in illegal drug activities in Cavite.

Masikat was arrested in Barangay Isidro by a joint team of the Catanauan and Silang police based on warrants issued by a local court for murder and robbery with homicide.
