MANILA, Philippines — Portions of the three million doses of reformulated Pfizer vaccine for children donated by the Australian government have started arriving in the Philippines.
The first tranche of 480,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on Wednesday night.
Another 854,000 vaccine doses arrived at the NAIA last night.
The Department of Health said an additional 936,000 Pfizer vaccine doses will be delivered today.
The last batch of 720,000 doses will arrive in the Philippines on Sept. 19.
The Bureau of Customs at the NAIA facilitated the release of the vaccine donations after representatives from the Department of Health and Food and Drug Administration approved the clearances. The COVID-19 jabs were transported to the government’s cold storage facilities.
