MANILA, Philippines — Police raided a bar in Pasay for reportedly violating COVID-19 protocols before dawn yesterday.

Michael Relampago, floor manager of Galaxy KTV Bar along Macapagal Boulevard, was arrested for violating Republic Act 11332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act.

Five other bar employees were nabbed and fined for violating the curfew ordinance. They were Elren Pusing, 32; Mark Anthony Cerbito, 27; Joel Caalim, 26; Jerry Quartero Jr., 28, and Arjay Glen Rebulas, 33.

Personnel of the Pasay police intelligence section led by Maj. Jerry Sunga raided the bar at around 2:30 a.m.

Under the guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, bars, nightclubs and other similar establishments are not allowed to operate under the general community quarantine’s Alert Level 4.
