CABANATUAN CITY, Philippines — A suspected thief was killed in an alleged shootout with law enforcers in Nueva Ecija on Friday night.
Reports reaching Col. Rhoderick Campo, acting provincial police director, said Jomar Sabado refused to pull over at a checkpoint in Barangay Palestina in San Jose City and fired at policemen.
Police said a .38-caliber revolver, a sling bag, a tricycle, a laptop and a shoulder bag were recovered from the fatality.
Sabado was accused of stealing items from the Abar 2nd Elementary School earlier that day.
