3 boys drown in Taguig manhole

MANILA, Philippines — Three boys drowned in a manhole in Taguig City yesterday afternoon.

Police identified the fatalities as Dominique Nueva, 6; Reynan Sandag, 6, and Prince Almania, 8.

According to a police report, the boys were playing along Anchor street in Barangay Western Bicutan when they fell into the manhole and drowned at around 12:40 p.m.

Police said members of the barangay’s rescue team tried to rescue the children by pulling them out of the manhole. Their efforts proved futile.

The boys were rushed to the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
