Fake cigarettes seized

MANILA, Philippines – At least P2.6 million worth of fake cigarettes have been seized following a raid on a warehouse in Santiago, Isabela, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) reported over the weekend.

Aside from the cigarettes, the raiding team composed of the agents of the the Enforcement Security Service and Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service recovered 86 master cases of the counterfeit items.

The raid was based on an order issued by Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero.

Authorities have yet to conduct an inventory of the items to determine its exact amount and quantity.

No one was arrested during the raid.
