2 Negros village execs shot dead

BACOLOD CITY , Philippines – Two barangay officials on Negros island were shot dead in the past two days.

Harrison Gonzales, 52, chairman of Barangay Poblacion in Dumaguete City, was manning a quarantine checkpoint when he was  attacked.

Gonzales was declared dead on arrival at the Holy Child Hospital.

Novo Deocampo, councilman of Barangay 4, San Carlos City, was shot by motorcycle-riding men in front of his house.

Probers have yet to determine the motive for the killings.
