MANILA, Philippines — Five more police officers have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019, bringing to 55 the number of Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel infected with COVID-19.
PNP spokesman Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac said the new COVID-19 patients – all men – are undergoing treatment.
Two of the patients are assigned in Metro Manila, two in Calabarzon and one in Central Luzon.
Banac said eight police officers have recovered from the disease and two have died.
