Northeast monsoon affects Luzon

MANILA, Philippines — The northeast monsoon is affecting Luzon while the easterlies prevails over the eastern sections of the Visayas and Mindanao, state weather forecasters said yesterday.

“The Cordilleras, Cagayan Valley and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said. Meanwhile, Eastern Visayas and Caraga will experience cloudy skies with rainshowers and isolated thunderstorm due to the easterlies.

Palawan and the rest of the Visayas and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers.           

PAGASA said Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon would have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.
