CLARK , Philippines — More than a kilo of shabu with an estimated street value of P6.5 million were seized last week at the Port of Clark, the Bureau of Customs
(BOC)reported yesterday.
The illegal drugs, which were hidden in a shipment of aquarium filter, came from the Czech Republic.
The BOC said another shipment declared as ”nutritional supplement” was found to contain three bottles with markings of marijuana leaf.
Samples of the shipments tested positive for shabu and marijuana, respectively, .
The BOC said it is preparing the charges to be filed against those behind the shipments.
Meanwhile, the BOC installed two portal type x-ray machines at the Manila International Container Port to enhance inspection capacity.
The BOC said each machine could scan 160 shipping containers per hour.
