MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City government has not authorized any towing company to operate in the city, Mayor Joy Belmonte warned the public.

Belmonte said she received information that a towing firm has been operating in the city without the necessary permit.

“We have not authorized any company to conduct towing services within our jurisdiction,” she said.

Belmonte, however, clarified that towing companies accredited by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority can continue operating in the city.

She urged motorists to report to the city’s Hotline 122 if they have been victimized by the illegal towing firm.

“Report to us so we can take proper action,” she said.
