MANILA, Philippines – Globe Telecom Inc. has forged a new partnership with the Makati City government to provide free WiFi access via GoWiFi to 27 barangay health centers, the city hall and the University of Makati.
As part of a public-private partnership agreement approved by the city council, Globe will also install antennas on poles owned by the city government to improve mobile signal at more than 100 strategic sites.
“Globe Prepaid & TM customers in Makati can enjoy 1GB of free GoWiFi for every registration of GoSAKTO, GoSURF & EasySURF worth P50 and above that they can use in any GoWiFi hotspot in the city,” Globe president and CEO Ernest Cu said.
Globe said Makati City is way ahead of its counterparts when it comes to adopting digital technologies and solutions.
