MANILA, Philippines — At least 2,000 kilos of fossilized giant clams worth around P30 million were seized in raids led by Philippine Air Force (PAF) intelligence personnel in Cordova, Cebu on Wednesday.
PAF spokesman Maj. Aristides Galang said the simultaneous raids were conducted in Barangays Day-as and Catarman.
Galang said George and Bening Oldama, Roweno Tajanlangit and two other persons who have yet to be identified were arrested.
He said the arrest is expected to impact on the activities of those behind the destruction of endangered marine species.
