MANILA, Philippines — President Duterte was only joking when he asked Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano when their political dynasty in Taguig will finally end, presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo said yesterday.
“Nagbibiro lang. Mahilig naman magbiro si Presidente,” Panelo said.
Duterte made the joke when he introduced the Cayetanos during the launching of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority mobile platform called 911 TESDA in Taguig on Tuesday night.
“Kailan kaya matapos ang dynasty ninyo?,” the President said in jest.
The Speaker’s wife Rep. Lani Cayetano and his brother Mayor Lino Cayetano were also present during the event.
Sen. Pia Cayetano welcomed the President’s joke.
“We should focus on important issues and not on jokes,” she said. – Cecille Suerte Felipe
