MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has signed an executive order reducing the application period for business permits from one month to just a day to ease doing business in the city.
Moreno signed Executive Order No. 8 establishing the “Business One-Stop Shop,” which seeks to cut the processing time from eight days to a month to just a day and from 11 steps to three steps.
The order will also streamline the issuance of local business licenses, clearances, permits, certification and authorizations, and manage the flow of documents among offices.
The one stop shop will be launched on Monday.
The following offices will be included in the shop: bureau of permits, license division, city treasury cash division, city planning and development office zoning division, city engineering/building office including its electrical division, manila health department, electronic data processing, and other regulatory offices.
