MANILA, Philippines — Leyte Mayor-elect Remedio Veloso squeaked past his opponent incumbent Mayor Susan Ang in a razor close race, with Veloso garnering only one vote more than Ang.

Veloso, who ran under the United Nationalist Alliance, bested PDP-Laban candidate Ang with 8,829 votes.
