2 hurt in Manila fire

MANILA, Philippines — Two persons were hurt after they helped firefighters douse a blaze that struck a residential area in Sta. Ana, Manila on Tuesday.

Go Mercindo Morales, 67, and Tristan Patricio, 33, suffered burns and abrasions.

The fire left eight families homeless, according to arson probers.

Senior Fire Officer 1 Joshua Galura said there was sufficient water supply in the hydrant amid a water shortage in Metro Manila.

Damage to property was placed at P200,000.
