10 teens face frustrated murder raps

MANILA, Philippines — A 14-year-old boy and nine others are facing charges of frustrated murder for allegedly shooting a 16-year-old student in the neck with a pen gun Wednesday night.

Police said the victim was playing computer games at an internet shop with his cousin in Barangay 188, when a group of 10 teenagers – allegedly from a rival gang – barged in and threatened them Wednesday night.

When the victim went outside, the suspect brought out the pen gun and shot him in the neck.

According to the victim’s mother, the victim is out of danger after undergoing surgery.

Police will file charges of frustrated murder against the suspect, who may be taken to a Bahay Pag-asa reformation facility.

Police are still on the lookout for the nine other children who are at large, according to Caloocan police north extension office head Inspector Ronald Batalla.
