No lawsuit yet over mall car crash in San Juan City
MANILA, Philippines — The relatives of Sen. Grace Poe’s father-in-law, whose vehicle fell from the parking area of a mall in San Juan City last Sunday, have no plans as yet to file charges in court, an official said yesterday.
The family of Dr. Teodoro Llamanzares, 83, has not yet signified any intention to file charges against the management of Promenade mall, according to Senior Superintendent Dindo Reyes, city police chief.
“We are waiting for somebody to file a complaint but it seems that the two parties are still talking to each other,” he said, adding that he talked to Poe’s husband, Neil Llamanzares, on Sunday.
Reyes said he is not aware if Llamanzares’ family and the mall management have arrived at an amicable settlement.
Llamanzares was maneuvering his black Toyota Innova (AHA-8024) at the mall’s third-floor parking area when it overshot the iron barriers and fell to the ground.
He was taken to the Cardinal Santos Memorial Medical Center for treatment.
