MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada yesterday ordered the suspension of classes at all levels and work in the city government’s offices on Nov. 20 during the state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

In an order, Estrada said the Manila Police District recommended the suspension of classes and government work in Manila.

Estrada said he wants Xi “to be spared from traffic during his state visit,” which will be highlighted by a visit to Malacañang and a wreath-laying ceremony at the Rizal Monument.
