Ramil Bajo - The Philippine Star

SURALLAH, South Cotabato, Philippines — A man allegedly stabbed to death two children following an argument with their nanny in this town yesterday.

Cherish Joy, 4, and 10-month-old Janna Grace, both surnamed Pamplona, suffered four and two stab wounds, respectively.

Jorge Judilla, 48, a jeepney driver and resident of Barangay Libertad, was wounded when he reportedly tried to commit suicide by stabbing himself several times after attacking the children. He was confined in a hospital in Koronadal.

Senior Police Officer 2 Jerico Magbanua said Judilla barged into the house of the victims and confronted their nanny, his partner Ellen Labatos, about her plan to leave him.

Judilla reportedly tried to stab Labatos using a knife, but she managed to run to ask help from their neighbors.

The parents of the victims were not around when the incident occurred.
