MAGUINDANAO, Philippines — Unidentified men beheaded two farmers in Parang, Maguindanao on Friday night.
The decapitated bodies of Ceasar Fermin, 42, and Jabon Bistas, 41, were recovered near a copra dryer in Barangay Gadungan-Calawag at around 5 a.m. yesterday. Their severed heads were believed dumped elsewhere.
Witnesses confirmed seeing gunmen ran away from the scene before midnight on Friday.
Chief Superintendent Graciano Mijares of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao police said it was the first incident of beheading in the town.
Parang Mayor Ibrahim Ibay asked barangay officials and community elders to help the police identify the culprits.
