MANILA, Philippines — Four members of a carjacking group were arrested in Tondo, Manila on Monday night.
They were Ronald Encarnado, 38; his partner Vanessa de Mesa, 30; Jayson Laquindanum, 32, and Alexander Bansuelo, 20.
Superintendent Gerry Corpuz, commander of the Manila Police District Station 7, said Encarnado and De Mesa have standing warrants of arrest for car theft.
The suspects yielded a .45 caliber handgun, bullets and fan knives.
Corpuz said the suspects’ arrest was made based on the complaint of Aldec John Padua, who alleged that Bansuelo and Laquindanum stole his motorcycle along New Antipolo street.
Police said the suspects sold the motorcycle to a buyer.
The suspects are being held by police on charges of car theft, illegal possession of firearms and violation of the Omnibus Election Code.
