Cebu Pacific plane stalls at Zamboanga airport

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Several flights were delayed at the Zamboanga International Airport yesterday after it was closed for three hours when a Cebu Pacific plane got stuck on the runway. 

Antonio Alfonso of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines said the Cebu Pacific Airbus A320 5J849 flight from Manila encountered a mechanical problem after landing at about 5:20 a.m.  

“According to the pilot, he could not taxi,” Alfonso said. 

The plane’s cargo and baggage were unloaded and passengers deplaned on the runway to move the aircraft. – With Rudy Santos
