Supreme Court to elderly lawyers: Report to Bar Confidant

MANILA, Philippines — The Supreme Court en banc recently ordered all lawyers, aged 75 and above, to report the Office of Bar Confidant to allow the SC to update their records in the Roll of Attorneys.

The SC issued a resolution on Feb. 13 requiring the lawyers to present themselves before the Office of the Bar Confidant prior to being issued clearances for notarial commission.

During the signing of the resolution, four SC justices were not present: Justices Marvic Leonen, Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa and Alexander Gesmundo were on official business while Justice Samuel Martires was on official leave.
