6 drug suspects killed
MANILA, Philippines - Four suspected drug pushers were killed in stings while two others were shot dead by unidentified men in Luzon in the past two days.
Renato Taba and a certain Cyrus reportedly drew their guns when they sensed they had sold shabu to undercover agents in Barangay Tigbe in Norzagaray, Bulacan on Thursday.
An alias Enteng and a man known only as Noli allegedly fired at anti-drug operatives in Barangay Mabolo in Malolos yesterday.
Police said three .38-caliber revolvers, an improvised shotgun, sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia and marked money were recovered from the fatalities, who were known drug pushers in their barangays.
Ralph Tabbu, 56, was walking in Barangay Pulong Buhangin in Sta. Maria when he was shot on Thursday night. He allegedly yielded four sachets of shabu.
Ronaldo Tumbaga, 46, councilman of Barangay Putol in Tuy, Batangas, was tending his meat store when a man in a sport utility vehicle opened fire. Police said Tumbaga surrendered under Oplan Tokhang last year.
4 die in shootings
Meanwhile, police have yet to determine the motives for the killings of four other persons.
In Cavite, Ryan Abalos, 27, was driving his tricycle in Barangay Luciano in Trece Martirez City when he was shot on Thursday.
Edgardo Mayuga was found dead in a vacant lot in Barangay Malibu in Tuy, Batangas yesterday.
Victorio Luna, chairman of Barangay Castañas in Sariaya, Quezon, was attending a graduation ceremony at a public school when he was shot at around 11 a.m. also yesterday.
The body of a woman who has yet to be identified was found floating in Soro-soro river in Barangay Maduya in Carmona, Cavite on Thursday.
