DIPACULAO, Aurora, Philippines – Local officials are promoting this third-class municipality as Aurora’s second haven for tourists, next to the capital town of Baler.
Mayor Joanna Cabauatan-Salamanca said investors are looking for a place to establish businesses, particularly in Barangay Dinadiawan, where white sand beaches are located.
She said businessmen from Cavite are planning to put up a zipline in the area to attract tourists.
Salamanca said the municipal government is prioritizing the development of tourist attractions to generate additional income for the people of Dipaculao, which is adjacent to the booming Baler.
The town also hosts the Dibutunan Marine Protected Area and the Baul, Mano, Nas-nas and Lusso falls.
Salamanca said they are planning to develop the Dibutunan Falls to attract tourists. She said the municipal government is eyeing a sisterhood agreement with the city government of Makati to strengthen the town’s ties with the outside world.
