NPA rebel slain in Camarines Norte clash

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – A New People’s Army (NPA) rebel was killed in an encounter with government troops in Camarines Norte on Wednesday.

Senior Inspector Malou Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, identified the NPA guerrilla as Marlon Villan, 27, a resident of Purok 3 in Barangay Magsaysay in Capalonga town.

A .45 caliber pistol, ammunition and a backpack were recovered at the scene.
