MMDA lifts number coding until New Year
MANILA, Philippines – The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Tuesday advised the public that they are suspending the number coding scheme for three consecutive days until New Year.
The lifting of the unified vehicular volume reduction program otherwise known as the number coding scheme will be effective starting Dec. 30, 2015 until Jan. 1, 2016.
Makati Traffic also advised the motorists that they are also suspending the number coding scheme on the said dates.
"The Number Coding Scheme is lifted (Metro Manila wide/all cities) on the following days: Dec. 30 & 31, 2015 and Jan. 1, 2016," the MMDA said in its advisory.
The dates with suspended number coding scheme were declared regular holidays by the national government. December 30, Rizal Day and New Year’s Day January 1 are regular holidays while December 31 was a special non-working day.
